The world is changing more rapidly than ever before. Legalized gay marriage, sexual anarchy, the suppression of freedom (personal, economic, religious) and increased global persecution of Christians. Truths about who God is and his plan for flourishing human societies are increasingly lost in lies and misinformation by a forgetful people eager to suppress the truth.
Digital media controls the narrative, telling stories and shaping the cultural conversation—from news and media sites like Vice, Buzzfeed, and Al Jazeera, digital entertainment platforms like Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu, to podcasting and independent publishing. Crossing cultures, religious divides, and geo-political boundaries, social media spreads these stories with unprecedented speed and reach.
How can Christians communicate the truth about God to this generation and the next? Can we reach them on their devices in a chaotic, fragmented marketplace? Can we winsomely speak out for black and white biblical truth in a hostile culture committed to the color gray?
Feeling called and equipped, in 2009 media producer and entrepreneur Jay Friesen partnered with scholar and public theologian Dr. Brian Mattson to launch Dead Reckoning, a brand committed to communicating truth through intelligent, digital entertainment.
Partnering with a new generation of voices from Hollywood to Washington D.C., and delivering entirely online with strategic partners, Dead Reckoning features intelligent, entertaining and relevant Christian conversations on religion, economics, lifestyle, politics, art, and culture. Mainstream outlets don’t find God, the Bible, or faith very interesting or important for understanding the times. Dead Reckoning disagrees.
One must keep on pointing out that Christianity is a statement which, if false, is of no importance, and, if true, of infinite importance. The one thing it cannot be is moderately important. ~ C.S. Lewis

Remley Gorsuch | Digital Marketing & Strategy | Assistant Producer
Remley Gorsuch is a social media specialist, graphic designer, and a contemporary and historical culture enthusiast. She considers herself a life-long learner of history, theology, philosophy, sociology, and science fiction (Han shot first!).
While her B.A. is in Christian Studies from Oklahoma Baptist University, she cut her teeth in college recruiting and in non-profit marketing and social media strategies.
She currently splits her time between interacting online as the digital media guru of Dead Reckoning and taking care of two small children who showed up one day, call her “mom”, and won’t go away. In her free time, she drinks a good beer or sews something and sometimes she does both at the same time because she’s adventurous like that.
Remley lives with her husband, two kids, and a cat who thinks he’s a dog in Crystal Springs, Mississippi.
Annette is always shopping (well not really) but as a busy grandma of 9 (3 of them Jay’s kids) combined with her earnest desire to master foodie status, she does her fair share of contributing to the grocery economy.
Before focusing on her grandchildren, she was Chief of Staff at Oratium, an executive communication and message architect company and Case Administrator for the Institute for Christian Conciliation. Her past included dabbling in writing, speaking, teaching, mediation and of course, raising her four children to adulthood (1 of them Jay). Somewhere along the way she coordinated conferences, wrote some articles for magazines and the web, lobbied in Washington, and managed to get her Bachelors in Communication and started a Masters Degree in Biblical Conflict Resolution.
While cooking (most likely for a family dinner), she was snapped up by her son as Dead Reckoning’s Production Coordinator. She frequently manages logistics, guests and the like while cooking a Chipotle Sweet Potato Soup wrapping something in bacon, and baking something to overload the family with gluten (Dead Reckoning endorsed working environment).
Annette lives in Billings with her husband Rick, enjoying nearly 40 years of marriage. She is still toying with running her 7th marathon, trying to read too many books, and trying to figure out how to complete that century ride she attempted a few years back. She and Rick love their local church, treasure big family get-togethers, and strategize over their next remodel project on their home, affectionately referred to as a mid-century modern turned into a cabin.
